Teaching
Mahuia is a experienced, supportive, friendly teacher with both a contemporary and classical focus. He is able to record practices and lessons and has students of all ages. His teaching focus can either be the traditionally based classical examination preparation, or he can focus on the techniques needed in a more contemporary style of music. e.g. the electric violin and playing in bands. At his Central Auckland studio in Upper Queen St, he can record your lessons and arrange pieces for you. You can then take away your own CD to show off to your friends and family.
String Quartet (2 Violins, Viola, Cello)
Mahuia regularly performs as part of a String Quartet for all kinds of events, weddings, corporate functions or any other special occasion.
Repertoire to suit your requirements: classical and/or popular/contemporary.
Also available is a String Duo (Violin, Cello), or Trio, (Violin, Viola, Cello)

Sessions
Mahuia is available for session work, live or recorded. Mahuia can arrange, perform, record and mix strings across genres. He can also organise orchestral musicians to your requirements and score parts, from cor anglaise to cello.

Producing
Mahuia is currently an in house producer for Beaver Studios where he works with various artists from The Misfits Of Science to Moana and The Moa Hunters. He also produces his own band The Exiles.
